2024 World Morning Cup Badminton Championships

    26 Jun 2024

The HKFC badminton team made our first international competition visit as a team for 2024 – visiting Taiwan for the 2024 World Morning Cup Badminton Championships (an annual competition attended by 4,753 people from 22 countries). Our SPM representatives performed excellently – notching multiple wins against strong competitors from Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan, Hong Kong amongst other countries and regions. A highlight was Bryan winning the men’s doubles event for his age group (25-30) and third place in mixed doubles, and Elliott and Shelson reaching the quarter finals (30-25) where they lost in a close match to the eventual champions (another strong team from Hong Kong). The team enjoyed some strong bonding experiences at the night markets in Taipei each night and are determined to come back even stronger at next years competition! All team members would like to thank the HKFC badminton society for their strong support and to Jaff and the significant others of several team members who made the trip to support the team.
