Home Away From Home: The Lansdowne Club

    26 Jun 2025

As the first part in our ‘Home Away From Home’ series, where we showcase our various reciprocal clubs for when you’re out of town, we’re introducing one of our long-standing reciprocal clubs: The Lansdowne Club!

When you spend most days (and nights) at the HKFC (I know I do), travelling can feel like the loss of routine.  With over 100 reciprocal membership clubs at the tip of your fingers, what better way to make more use of your membership than to feel closer to home.

Nestled in Mayfair, the heart of London’s West End, is the Lansdowne Club whose heritage dates back to 1763, and is not only one of the most exclusive private Members’ Clubs in London, but also one which has welcomed both men & women with equal status since its inception–a feat for any private club at the time!

Today, it maintains its prestige through its luxurious array of facilities and events, and HKFC members are more than welcome to make use of their reciprocal membership during their next trip to London by staying in one of the Lansdowne’s 73 rooms and suites. Tastefully designed and perfect for any Hong Konger who wants to skip town for a cheeky holiday.

While you’re there, make use of their dining & facilities! After taking a dip in the indoor pool, a hit at the squash courts (perfect for our squash enthusiasts and section players who want to continue their routine), or taking a stab at the fencing salle, you can grab a bite at their Courtyard Brasserie and a drink in their historic Round Room cocktail bar. If the courts or pool are not your cup of tea, there’s also a full schedule of fitness classes and personal trainers available.

And when the busy day is done, there is always an event held at the Lansdowne to fill up the rest of your time.

(Don’t forget to say hi to the kitties, Harry & Rose, while you’re there!)

    How To Visit

For those who want to use the reciprocal membership for the Lansdowne Club (or any of our other reciprocal clubs, which we will be featuring on this blog), members should apply for an Introductory Letter from the Membership Department

To obtain this Introductory Letter, call 2830 9500 or email membership@hkfc.com.

An Introductory Letter should be presented to the reciprocal club’s front desk, where it will be exchanged for a Visitor’s Club Card.

Members must contact the reciprocal club directly to book rooms or accommodation before their visit.
