On October 12, 2002, 24 years ago, a tragedy shook the rugby community. 202 people lost their lives in a terrorist attack in Bali, and of those 202, 11 were HKFC Rugby Section members and friends.
Each year, our community gathers to remember and celebrate the teammates who helped shape our Club into what it is today. The Walton’s Brunch hold a special place in that tradition, named in enduring tribute to our former Club Captain, Clive Walton.
Clive was the visionary behind our One Club ethos.
A quintessential Club man in every sense, Clive left an indelible mark on Hong Kong rugby. Those who stood alongside him remember his warmth, grit, and generosity of spirit; those who never had the privilege to meet him still benefit daily from the inclusive culture he built.
His legacy endures every time our sides take the pitch together.
Please join us on October 11th as we share a table at Walton's Brunch and raise a glass to Clive and all our absent friends.
