Awards Aplenty! A Recap of the 2025 Sports Awards Gala

    13 Jun 2025

Take a peek behind the curtains and into a recap of the 2025 Sports Awards Gala, as well as a video and (not-so-secret) extra photos taken from the night.

On Saturday, June 7, the Club held its second annual Sports Awards Gala, where HKFC wined and dined (& platformed) home-grown sporting talents and dedicated members, and treated those who joined us with stories from our special guests. We credit many of our successes and excellence to the members who stay actively participating in all things HKFC, and those who show up tirelessly to training, matches, and tournaments.

Honorary Membership Adds a Olympic Medals and Rugby Royalty

As you step into the VIP reception, you’re instantly welcomed by the soft lull of the live music played by two violinists, the constant bubble of champagne, and lively chatter. Our Chairman, Neil Jensen, took a moment to thank the room and share the story behind the Sports Awards before spotlighting some special guests; Li Xiaopeng (4-time Olympic gold medallist), Daley Thompson (two-time decathlon Olympic gold medallist), Martin Johnson (one of England’s most successful rugby captains), and Camille Cheng (Olympic swimmer).

    Awards Ceremony

The night was a buzz of hard-earned awards, heartfelt speeches, and a fast-paced silent auction where dazzling items (such as villa holidays in Thailand and the Maldives, autographs from Taylor Swift or Muhammad Ali, and fine jewellery) were up for grabs to contribute towards Laureus Sport For Good, all expertly handled by our MC Michael Campion. As awards were given out, Tattinger champagnes were popped open and an indulgent 4-course dinner was served.

Among the night’s highlights were panels with Li Xiaopeng, Daley Thompson, and Martin Johnson, an insightful speech by Camille Cheng on her charity, Mind The Waves, as well as a sweet farewell to Tony Sealy, who has dedicated 30 plus years of service to the Club, most recently as Consulting General Manager.

With how brilliantly it’s gone, we’re all excited to see everyone there next year!
